So after that ridiculous Joe Roth quote about how dudes just can’t get no representatio in fairy tales/fantasy films and someone’s reblog claiming that Disney’s movies were all about girls, I decided to do a little digging.

That’s thirteen with female leads and twenty-two with male leads, not counting the movies with dual protagonists. If you add Pixar (which is co-owned by Disney) you get:

which brings our respective totals to fourteen and thirty-five. Remind me again how boys are the under-represented demographic?
And Mayne you should subtract some points if the lead is female but spends the whole movie asleep, or a frog, or...
